For a few months in 2018, I was working remote. My team used Slack, and I had just gotten some Google Home Minis. I found myself wanting to communicate to my team when I would be having lunch, taking a walk, or out sick. Naturally, I had to build a Google Assistant integration to do it for me.
Now, all I have to say is, "Hey Google, set my status to lunch," and my Slack status, status emoji, presence (online/offline), and do not disturb settings are changed accordingly. Is it overkill? Probably. Is it fun? Definitely.
